HHC Trek 2015 Spring
The spring 2015 medical and dental trek is now full. It's a 14 day (Kathmandu to Kathmandu) tough but a worthy experience.

The Spring 2015 trek is now full. Physicians, dentists, nurses, PA and also other volunteers--including family members--have joined this two-week trek in a remote region of the Himalayas to support and train local health providers and help them treat hundreds of villagers who have little or no health care. Trek dates are Mar 30 to Apr 14. They will be supported by a team of over twenty five medical and trek staff and about fifty to one hundred porters. Everything will be portered in. The highest point on the trek can be around 14,000 feet, and trekkers will see some of the beautiful high peaks in the Himalayas. Medical work will be empirical at best with little diagnostic support. Trek Duration:  12-13 days;   Trek Destination: Tipling, Sherthung and or Lapa Villages in the Dhading (Ganesh Himal) District of Nepal. (Northwest of Kathmandu, close to the Tibet border);  Trek Starting Point: Parbati Kunda (Gompa), nine to ten hour drive from Kathmandu;  Medical Camp:  Tipling, Sherthung and or Lapa Village; Trek End Point: Darkhaphedi (3500 ft.); Highest Point on Trek: Phangsang Pass (13,500 ft. +); Mountains Ranges: Ganesh, Langtang & Manaslu Himal Ranges; Total Walking distance: 99,999 steps (Dr. Jereld Wing, fall 2011 trek)

All net proceeds from the handicraft sales are used to fund primary health care, medical and educational projects, giving to those involved in the production process a sense of pride that comes by helping and sustaining many others, in even greater need than themselves. Jeevankala
